You could be using your history to stand out.

How do you think about your company's history? Boxes and file cabinets stuffed with old ledgers, dusty photo albums, newsletters, mystery thumb drives, and folders packed with who knows what?

I invite you to think of it this way: a one-of-a-kind treasure trove of the people, events, decisions, and places that came together to form your business. Heritage branding tells your story in a way nothing else can—and it can help you connect in new ways with:

  • customers
  • partners
  • employees
  • industry
  • community

How does this work?
I'll work with you to research, frame, and tell your story. I’m a history buff and also a content strategist, writer, and editor with decades of experience mining archives and writing about people, places, and businesses from the past.  I can provide articles, books, videos, websites, blogs, case studies, Q&As, social media—all the ways that connect and inspire. We can stitch together a narrative and create a strategy for telling the story you want to share.

Does heritage branding really matter?
Sure does. Consumers love it when companies share stories from the way-back machine. A recent survey* showed 74% of U.S. adult consumers like to read social media posts about a brand’s founding and origin story. And 54% would like to see more content that highlights the company’s history and milestones.

What kinds of things do you find?
The story has a way of telling itself. Taking a closer look at your history often reveals common themes that thread their way back through the years. We'll work with materials inside the company and in local libraries and archives. We might find forgotten but pivotal partnerships and initiatives, or community leadership in times of great need, or objects and artifacts to be proud of. We may even solve a mystery or two along the way.

Your company history can:
  • Honor the people—past and present—who’ve built your business
  • Highlight your company’s unique contributions, achievements, and events
  • Show how you've overcome setbacks
  • Feature the leading role you've played in your industry
  • Celebrate your company's community connection.

Every business has a unique heritage. Just like people, no two are alike. Send me an email to find out how we can work together to tell your story.
