Busy university communications teams need a content pro who knows the ropes.
Colleges and universities are under a lot of pressure to raise support from a wide range of constituents — alumni, prospective students, parents, friends, recruiters, industry partners.
You need a writer who understands what's at stake, someone with the experience to communicate your unique stories in a relatable way.
Hi, I'm Sally. I'm a freelance writer and editor who helps alumni, advancement, and marketing teams across the university tell their institutions' stories.
I was a business journalist for many years. Before that, I was a communications staffer at an R1 university. I also have a master's degree. For 30 years, I've been helping higher ed teams in:
- universitywide alumni relations and development, often during fundraising campaigns
- schools of business, medicine, and engineering
- president's offices
- academic medical centers.
I work with Cornell, Chicago, Northwestern, UTexas, Rochester, UVA, Carnegie Mellon, UMass, UWashington, Smith, Oberlin, and many others. I write and edit profiles and features, blogs, newsletters, reports, event programs, magazines, and other types of campaign communications.
